Hear it. Describe it. Explain it.
Today's Lesson · Mon 10/19 · Wk9 · Charlie's exam tests, then blood tests: what they measure
Open today's complete lesson in Schoology (opens in a new tab)Follow that lesson for today's required work and what to turn in. Use the downloads below when its steps ask you to analyze sounds.
Download the named heart, lung and blood-pressure sounds, then use the illustrated guide to connect what you hear to its source in the body and what a physician would investigate. These 25 synthesized teaching simulations have not been clinically validated. They support comparison practice and cannot establish a diagnosis.
For exam choices: use these training references when weighing heart and lung exam choices. They are not Charlie's recorded findings. Follow the linked lesson; there is no extra submission.
Listen at a comfortable volume with headphones if available. Replay the same example before comparing it. Describe timing, pitch and sound quality before interpreting it. If the classroom stethoscope gives a faint or unclear sound, record "not clearly heard" and use the simulation for the assigned comparison. Do not invent an observation.

Mon, Oct 19, 2026
Two things today. First, here is everything that was due since your last catch-up day, so you can see what you still owe and turn it in. Then the rest of the period is Research Track time.
Check what you have already turned in. Anything left unchecked is what today is for.
- Tue, Oct 13, 2026 · Analyze vital signsCER arguing whether your partner's vital signs suggest homeostasis is maintained, using today's EMR readings as evidence and connecting at least one reading to its homeostatic feedback mechanism in the reasoning.
- Wed, Oct 14, 2026 · Bloodwork and rangesOne page from your Routine Testing day-1 sheet: the blood count table with all five rows, the three cholesterol tables with the better direction of each in your own words, the metabolic panel substances each paired with the organ it reports on, and two closing sentences, the most useful thing you learned and one thing you are still unsure about.
- Thu, Oct 15, 2026 · Simulated bloodwork dataOne data table covering every value in the practice patient record (date, test, value, unit, reference range, and an inside-or-outside flag), a labeled line graph of fasting glucose with the 70 to 99 mg/dL band shaded and out-of-range points marked, your two microscope drawings with a written comparison, and one limitation of the record.
- Fri, Oct 16, 2026 · JCU bioethics 4: Euthanasia to reduce antibiotic useYour worksheet: the side you argued, your three strongest arguments, the opposing point you had to answer, and where you actually stand now.
Turn in: Any catch-up work that is still missing
Go to Schoology to turn this in.
Submit one PDF. Schoology attaches your name to your upload; on the page itself, write your period and code. Name the file: FirstName LastName - Assignment Title - YYYY-MM-DD.pdf.
Open Schoology PDF upload helpIf you cannot get in, see Mr. Mendoza. Do not skip the work.
Were you out for any of these? You get two school days for every day you were absent, so this deadline moves with you.
Those days fed these parts of your end-of-course WebXam (072110). Heaviest first.
- Biotechnology Research and Experiments · 46% of the exam
The sessions picked out for Principles of Biomedical Technology (Principles of Biomedical Science) all sit earlier in the track, so this day does not name a new one. Open the track and take the next session you have not done. The case runs the length of this course.
Open the Research TrackResearch Track work is enrichment, the same track your lessons link to. It does not replace anything on the checklist above.
