Parents and guardians have a small but blocking role: onboarding cannot finish without you. Here is exactly what you do.
What families do
Sign the permission slip
Your student literally cannot be seen by the school nurse or mobile clinic without it. This is the single most important family action.
Help gather immunization records
MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, and TB history. Your pediatrician's office or MyChart usually has these.
Make sure copies get uploaded
Help your student keep a copy of everything and upload it into SilkRoad.
Watch the flu-shot window
If the rotation falls between November 1 and March 31, a seasonal flu shot is required.
Know the emails are real
Your student gets emails from RedCarpetMailer@mail.silkroad.com with an 'external sender' warning. These are legitimate Cleveland Clinic onboarding emails, not phishing.
No background check or CPR
Neither is required for this group.
