Speaking in front of people terrifies me.
Then you're exactly who this is for, and you set the pace. Start as Timer or Ah-Counter (zero speeches) and move up when you're ready. Nobody gets called on cold.
Do I need experience?
No, and that's not a slogan. Everyone in the room is practicing the same thing. First-timers start by listening and timing before they ever speak.
How big is the commitment?
The plan is bi-weekly meetings of 1 to 2 hours; the exact day, time, and room are being finalized. Joining the interest list is not a commitment.
How do officer roles work?
Elected roles (programs, membership, communications, records, treasury, logistics, accessibility) with applications opening now. Selection looks at follow-through, not popularity.
Will my photo or name be posted?
Not without the district media consent form on file, and families can decline media use without affecting membership.

Cleveland

Interviews, scholarships, and jobs all run on speaking. A student who can run a meeting serves every room they walk into later, starting with the ones in this city.

Where the partnership actually stands

Students are exploring a Youth Leadership Program partnership with members of Speaking Healthy Toastmasters. Nothing is agreed yet, and this page will say so until it is.

A club named Speaking Healthy is listed independently in Toastmasters District 10, Division W, Area 43. We link the district dashboard rather than the club's own site, because that address serves a certificate that does not match and a browser shows a security warning.

Drop your The Buzz submission in the OneDrive folder, or hand it to Mr. Mendoza in class. Both count. Sign in with your Microsoft (district) account, not a personal one. Nothing is turned in on Schoology: that is where the report-card grade shows up later.

Name the file exactly like this, with two underscores between the name and the title:

Lastname_Firstname__Assignment Title.pdf

Two underscores between the name and the title. Do not put your student ID in the file name: your district sign-in already tells me it is you. A file named any other way is not lost. It waits in a review folder until it is sorted by hand, so it is graded later.

Your receipt. Your own upload panel says Uploaded, with a green check beside the file name. That is your receipt. Screenshot it if you want a record of your own. Do not wait for the file to appear in a list. You should not be able to see anyone else's work in there. If you can see other students' files, stop and tell Mr. Mendoza.
