MODEL-1: the frames your records name
Stairwell in an apartment building after a reported fight; third step tread. Case MODEL-1 practice record. Worked model, used before Part B. Today's lesson: Process the scene: review the intake records.
Why this folder opened today
Today you build one intake row for every supplied item. Each row needs the item, its location with both reference distances and units, its photo references, and who handled it. These plates are the frames those photo references name.
Released today: 2 plates, plus the measured scene sketch. Every plate carries its own frame number, the item it covers, and both reference distances exactly as your record gives them.
Read this before you use a plate
These plates are drawings, made from the written case record. Not one of them is a photograph. That matters for the exact reason your reading gives: a photo reference is a pointer to a frame, and a frame is not an identification. A plate shows you where an item was and what the record says about it. It cannot tell you what a stain is.
Where the record does not supply something, the plate leaves it missing on purpose. A dashed boundary with EXTENT NOT RECORDED means the record never gave that area a size, so there is nothing on that plate to measure. Copy the status, not a guess.

Frame to row, at a glance
Use this to check you put the right frame number in the right intake row.
| Frame | Item | Location as recorded | What the record says about the frame |
|---|---|---|---|
| W-04 | E2-step3 | 138 cm from RP1, 96 cm from RP2 | white-light frame, scale cited |
| UV-01 | E2-step3 | 138 cm from RP1, 96 cm from RP2 | a response is reported here |
Three frame numbers with no frame
The MODEL-1 record names W-01, W-02, W-03 as earlier white-light references. It does not say what any of them shows, and no frame is supplied for them. That gap is left exactly as the record leaves it. Nothing was drawn to fill it.
This is the difference R4 asks you to keep. No photograph supplied describes a missing image. No response observed describes something somebody looked at and recorded. Copy the one the record actually gives.
