The evidence portfolio

Every frame your case records cite, drawn to the measurements those records supply, and opened on the day the lesson needs it.

Find your case first

The two sections run different cases. Photo numbers repeat between them, so opening the wrong folder will give you a frame number that matches and a scene that does not.

What these plates are, exactly

Each plate is a measured drawing built from one written record. The frame number, the item, the distance to RP1 and the distance to RP2 are copied from your case data without change. The surface under the item is line work, and every plate says so on its face.

None of them is a photograph. That is not a shortcoming to work around; it is the same distinction your Monday reading makes. A photo reference points at a frame. A frame shows you where something was. Neither one identifies a material.

How a plate shows you something is missing

  • Dashed boundary and EXTENT NOT RECORDED. The record never gave that area a size. There is nothing on the plate to measure, and no size belongs in your row.
  • SCALE IN FRAME PER RECORD. The record says a scale was in the original frame. It does not supply a dimension, so the plate carries a note and not a ruler.
  • NO RESPONSE REPORTED HERE. Somebody looked and recorded nothing. That is different from no photograph supplied, and different again from nothing being present.
  • E-NUMBER NOT ASSIGNED and IN PLACE, NOT REMOVED. Copy the status. Do not invent a number or a custody transfer.

MODEL-1 is the one place a ruler appears, because MODEL-1 is the one record that gives an extent: about 6 cm across. Compare it with any case plate and the difference between a recorded measurement and a missing one is the whole point.

What a plate cannot do for you

A plate cannot identify a stain, name a person, or establish what happened. It cannot turn a reported response under an alternate light source into blood. It cannot supply a size the record withheld, and it cannot fill a custody row for an item that was documented in place.

Everything here is an original classroom simulation. No part of it is a real case, a real person, or a real laboratory result.
